Inviting the Media

Designed for:
Learning Styles: Classroom based
Resource Type: Document

If you wish to generate publicity for your school’s Tomatosphere™ experiment, the sample media release attached may be modified and sent to your local media outlets.

Over the past 15 years, Tomatosphere™ has generated much media attention – in both print and television. Students studying science and “space agriculture” and their reactions to the project are most appealing to the media.

If you wish to generate publicity for your school’s Tomatosphere™ experiment, the sample media release attached may be modified and sent to your local media outlets. You may wish to follow up with a telephone call or electronic mail message.

You may wish to refer journalists to the website of First the Seed Foundation and Tomatosphere™ and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). This will allow the journalist to acquire some background information before coming to your classroom. Having the basics about Tomatosphere™, the journalist can then focus on the experiment in your classroom with YOUR students.

Please contact the Project Manager at projectmanager@tomatosphere.org if your local media does publish an article or does a video of your students. We like to track media coverage and also share it on our own websites and social media channels to help spread the word about your students’ moment in the spotlight!
